Happy New Year!
I celebrated with only a few people, but it was the most fun I've had on New Year's Eve for a while :)
Resolution(s):
Get in shape! Lose those ten pounds gained in summer!

This Christmas was pretty good. Mom got embarrassing Christmas Eve (as usual), but Claire was there to soften the blow. Dinner was really nice, but I definitely ate too much. Mom, dad, and I stayed up until at least 2:30 watching Squidbillies and singing songs about this and that. Somehow we got on the topic of religion, and since they were drunk I thought it was OK to mention my doubts about God and everything. We all just agreed about how fortunate we are, and how we love each other so much that we don't even have to say anything all.
Christmas morning started late. We didn't start unwrapping presents until at least 11:15. I got a bunch of grown-up things: flannel sheets, curtains I wanted months ago but they were out of (Mom is so sneaky), a sturdy apple slicer, eye-glass wipes, earrings, a re-usable bag with matching water bottle, Starbucks gift card, QT card, Chapstick, and possibly the best gift, a chocolate orange! I made bank with stocking money from parents and assorted relatives. Oh, and my dad got me a strobe light :)
We took a break from unwrapping presents to eat a huge breakfast. Waffles, biscuits, bacon, fruit salad, eggs, and of course mimosas :) It was very delicious.
Kevin came over with a present from his mom (The Mighty Boosh on DVD!) and we went to see "Up in the Air." Seeing a movie on Christmas Day has become our little tradition. It was really good! It left me with a serious case of the lonelies, and I think Kevin felt the same way because he gave me a big squeeze and a smooch after it ended.
This just in: nothing is on TV, and I settled for "The Pink Panther" in hopes of seeing the hamburger speech lesson, and it was exactly on that part. What a Christmas miracle.
